twenty one pilots' incredible Scaled And Icy livestream experience last month showed they're still one of the most breathtakingly ambitious and creative bands on the planet. Here's proof.
Last month, twenty one pilots welcomed their new album Scaled And Icy into the world with a truly stunning livestream event, showing up 99 per cent of bands who've done livestreams in the pandemic with one of the most ambitious virtual experiences possible ("In a world where this is as good as it gets, it will still be the best you’ve ever seen," frontman Tyler Joseph boldly stated beforehand). If, unfortunately, you missed out, then there's good news: they've released a video of Shy Away from the show.
Tyler and drummer Josh Dun showcased multiple set-pieces and scenarios within their one-hour livestream held at their Columbus, Ohio hometown's Schottenstein Center arena, with SAI lead single Shy Away in particular held in a snowy-looking banquet hall with the pair donning fancy full-length winter coats, barely even breaking a sweat despite the high-energy performance.
