The Kerrang! Chart: The best new music this week
The ultimate new music countdown – every Friday!
Ukrainian metal titans Jinjer are back with new music – Someone’s Daughter – and there’s a promise of another studio album in winter 2025.
Jinjer have just shared a brand-new single and video, Someone’s Daughter.
The Ukrainian metallers are teasing what’s to come from their next chapter as a band following 2021 album Wallflowers – and indeed, they also promise that album number five will arrive via Napalm Records in “winter 2025” (so there’s a little wait, but at least we’ve got this to tide us over in the meantime).
“Someone’s Daughter is an artistic attempt to cast the light on the inner world of women, who in various scenarios and circumstances, have had to choose a path that was historically made by men,” explains singer Tatiana Shmayluk.
“In a world where women are often underestimated and overlooked, they are still powerful heroes who navigate hardship with strength and resilience, unapologetically becoming themselves and breaking barriers in the face of the challenges that face them.
“Someone’s Daughter celebrates transition from naivety into wisdom, weakness into force, unwavering determination and fearlessness as our mothers, sisters, daughters and wives walk through adversity and fight for better change. These women are often forgotten but they have earned respect. They‘ve earned mine, that's for sure!”
