Following April comeback track Vigilantes, WARGASM have just unveiled their latest single and video, Small World Syndrome.

“They replaced sulphur street lamps with day glow bulbs, they changed the packaging on cigarettes – do you ever feel like there’s a bit less magic in the world?” the duo – Sam Matlock and Milkie Way – say when discussing the meaning behind the song.

“You wake up one day and the venues, the cafes, the cinemas you loved have been shut down. The things that make the world special are bulldozed by greed and homogenisation. Reality gets smaller by the day. Maybe the world’s not smaller – there’s just less in it. This is a little song about that. Your feelings are better out than in.”

Speaking about the accompanying video, which came to life with the help of Nukem Production, WARGASM continue that it was “shot in a bizarre world where backstreet lobotomies are the norm and deceivingly hench old ladies loiter on park benches to attack unsuspecting ASBOs. Oh, and Milkie is running for leader. You gotta be honest with us: somehow it still doesn’t seem as surreal as the mindfuck world we all actually inhabit…”

Catch WARGASM at their newly-announced London headline show in September, before they hit the road with Electric Callboy and Bury Tomorrow.
