twenty one pilots' latest album Trench has hit one million worldwide sales!
Hitting new milestones practically every day, it has just been announced that twenty one pilots' latest album Trench has reached one million worldwide sales (well, 1,079,000, if you want to get really precise) according to Chartdata.org.
Though the band are yet to comment on the news, their latest achievement will likely come as a surprise to the ever-modest Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun. Ahead of the release of Trench on October 5, frontman Tyler was undeniably nervous about how fans would respond to the release: “We’ve got to release the record to see how it does, because this record is the most us that we’ve ever done. And if it’s lacking, or it just doesn’t land, then it’s like, ‘Okay, we learn our roles and kind of stay where we’re good’ – which is maybe coming up with great lyrics and great melodies, but then having someone come in who knows better to help us form it. Maybe we’ll get there and realise that, but then we won’t be ashamed of that. But we won’t know until we see how this record does.”
Tyler also explained of his visions of where fans would take the album – just like they did with previous record – the record-smashing and world-beating Blurryface. “It would be a shame to not tap into their creativity, and to their reaction to things,” he said. “We’ve always enjoyed doing that. This world is gonna grow, and they’re gonna help it grow, for sure.”
It's safe to say things worked out very, very well…
