twenty one pilots and The Cure are set to headline next year’s Electric Castle.

The festival – which takes place at the 15th-century Bánffy Castle in Transylvania between June 16 and 19, 2026 – will host a ‘band to blow your mind, another one to heal your soul’, promise the organisers. No-one else has been announced just yet, but watch this space for more news when we have it.

twenty one pilots’ summer calendar is now starting to fill up nicely, with Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun bringing their Breach era over to Europe for several huge shows. They’ll kick things off at Germany’s Southside and Hurricane between June 19 – 21, and wrap up at Austria’s Frequency Festival on the weekend of August 20 – 22. Let’s hope they can squeeze some UK dates in there somewhere, too…

In other news, Breach recently went to Number One on the Billboard 200 in America, becoming the biggest selling rock album since Tool’s Fear Inoculum in 2019. “Welp. Breach went #1,” posted Tyler on X. “Why did this make me so happy I teared up a little? NOT A LOT. a little. 10 years ago I didn’t even really understand what a #1 album meant, but then ever since Blurryface I kind of really wanted it again, but never got it.

“Then I stopped wanting it and just wrote an album for you. for us. and that’s when you guys showed up bigger than ever. you did this. buying vinyl, or a box set, or going to listening events, or streaming and telling other people. thank you so much.

“This is the most proud I’ve ever been to be a part of this band. if you only knew how many industry people are confused right now. wait, what? yeah. we did.”
