Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross make two shortlists for 2025 Oscars
The 97th Academy Awards shortlists have been revealed, with Nine Inch Nails up for Best Original Score and Best Original Song.
A 2020 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame special will air later this year.
Among the many tours, gigs and festivals that have been cancelled or postponed this year due to coronavirus, the Rock & Roll Hame Of Fame have announced that their planned event in November will no longer be taking place.
Instead, a virtual event celebrating 2020's inductees will air on HBO on November 7, with next year's Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame moving to next fall.
“To protect the health and safety of our inductees, their families, crews and our attendees, we’ve made the decision that the scheduled live event is not possible,” explains John Sykes, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation.

“Together with HBO and executive producer Joel Gallen, we will still create an exciting program honouring our 2020 inductees, by telling the stories of their incredible contributions to music and impact on a generation of artists that followed them.”
Of course, the mighty Nine Inch Nails were deservedly set to be inducted in 2020, alongside T-Rex, Depeche Mode, Notorious B.I.G., Whitney Houston and The Doobie Brothers.
“A sincere thank you goes out to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame voting body, it always feels great to be recognised for your artistic efforts and I am honoured,” enthused Trent Reznor. “Many congratulations to this year’s fellow inductees…
“Thanks to everyone who has been a part of Nine Inch Nails’ remarkable career!”
He later told Rolling Stone: “I’m thrilled Depeche finally made it in. When it gets weird for me is when you think about, ‘Okay, who’s in? Who’s out?’ And you see Kraftwerk and Todd Rundgren not get in. That’s when it’s like, ‘Okay, what’s the criteria here? These guys should absolutely fucking be in there.’ Both of those that I mentioned were hugely influential. I don’t think I would be me had those guys not existed. That’s where I think of it with a grain of salt.”
