The Well Announce European Tour Dates, Bringing Heavy Psych To Italy, Germany, France, And More
Get ready: Austin, Texas's heaviest psych rock band is heading across the pond.
Stream the dark, danceable first single from their new record, Death And Consolation.
An album titled Death and Consolation certainly tips the listener off to a darker, more introspective subject matter than is usually taken on by many stoner-doom or heavy-psych bands. But it perfectly encapsulates the new record from Austin, Texas’ heavy-riffing trio The Well: Their third album, which is coming out on April 26th via Riding Easy Records, is their their most intimate, darkly personal record yet.
Vocalist/guitarist Ian Graham comments, “2018 was a strange, dark year. A lot of change going on in my life, there was a lot of depression and coming out of it over the last year. I wanted to call this Death and Consolation because in life, that’s a constant.”
Death and Consolation is also The Well’s least-produced and most concise album thus far, taking them out of the doom corner and giving it a raw, post-punk feel that’s as apt for kicking back and smoking a joint as it is for goth night. The first single from the record, The Raven (which we’re premiering below), sounds like a Satanic, downtuned Steppenwolf, and frankly we can’t get enough.
Kick off your shoes, hit play, close your eyes, and get lost in it.
