London’s Barbican is hosting a new emo exhibition
I’m Not Okay: An Emo Retrospective is running from now until mid-January…
The Used frontman Bert McCracken has unveiled new single, Just A Little Bit, to kick off his robbietheused solo project – listen now.
The Used’s Bert McCracken has launched his new pop solo project, robbietheused.
Explaining this different sonic direction away from his day job, Bert reveals that, “I’ve always tried to push for the poppy stuff for The Used records. And the band really likes to keep it heavy. So this is my way of getting all those pop songs that maybe wouldn’t make a Used record out into the world.”
But, if you think this means there’ll be no more emo bangers ever again from Bert and The Used, then don’t worry. He stresses that the band “is my number one priority and my favourite band in the world with my favourite singer of all time. My band members have all been really supportive, and they know how much I love pop music.”
Bert’s giving fans a taste of what’s to come with this neat little side-project via debut single Just A Little Bit, which he says is “a song about living through turmoil of the world and seeing a bit of a bright future ahead, seeing the sun peek out of the clouds, seeing a mistake being fixed. It’s about having a little bit of hope.”
