The Mars Volta return with first new song in 10 years, Blacklight Shine

Over a year on from their epic La Realidad De Los Sueños boxset, The Mars Volta are officially back from hiatus with actual new music!

The progressive legends began teasing their return a couple of days ago via an art installation in Los Angeles. Those who were lucky enough to attend the audio-visual experience – entitled L’YTOME HODORXÍ TELESTERION – would have heard new tune Blacklight Shine before anyone else.

Now, though, the single is officially out everywhere, with Cedric Bixler-Zavala cryptically hinting that the lyrics should inspire in listeners “a wave of rolling blackouts washing memories onto shore, a heartbeat that still remembers everything”.
