In pictures: The music and madness of Desertfest 2023
Desertfest – a three-day celebration of heaviness, fuzz, volume and weirdness – hit Camden once again last weekend. Here’s what we remember…
Zeal & Ardor and Elder are set to headline Desertfest 2025, while elsewhere the likes of Amenra, Stoned Jesus, The Devil & The Almighty Blues, Planet Of Zeus and more will be playing across the Camden weekender.
Desertfest London 2025 is go! The Camden weekender has just announced its first wave of bands for next May.
Zeal & Ardor and Elder will be headlining London’s annual celebration of all things heavy next year, with the latter’s frontman Nick DiSalvo revealing that their set specifically will be a special party for their third LP Lore.
“Lore is turning 10 years old,” Nick says. “This album marked a point of departure for Elder upon a path which the band is still walking now. For us, this is the record where the band came into its own as a unique voice in the heavy rock underground.
“As we approach our second decade as a band, we feel it’s appropriate to look back on this landmark for us and acknowledge it properly, which is why we’re doing a tour performing the entire album along with some other tracks from our earlier catalogue; we’ll give this era of the band a proper celebration before turning our attention once again toward the future and the next album, currently being written.”
Elsewhere, Amenra, Stoned Jesus, The Devil & The Almighty Blues, Planet Of Zeus, Rickshaw Billie’s Burger Patrol, Josiah, Sons Of Alpha Centauri, Volcanova, Scott Hepple & The Sun Band, Black Willows, 10,000 Years, Barbarian Hermit, Erronaut and Bobbie Dazzle will also be playing between Friday, May 16 and Sunday, May 18.
