Watch Jinjer’s Tatiana Shmayluk perform Circle With Me with Spiritbox
After releasing a video with Poppy from Louder Than Life last weekend, Spiritbox have now shared some killer footage of their performance with Tatiana Shmayluk of Jinjer.
“We feel really energised playing and recording the new songs…” Courtney LaPlante and Mike Stringer tease some brand-new Spiritbox material!
As well as massive new interviews with Bring Me The Horizon, Ghost and more, in our all-new physical edition of Kerrang! (out now), we catch up with Spiritbox on the road in America following a whirlwind 2021.
After the breakout success of their debut album Eternal Blue, the band's Courtney LaPlante and Mike Stringer are already looking ahead to new music, and considering how to navigate their desire for creative freedom when there are more eyes on them than ever before.
“As scary as it is, you just have to do what makes you happy, create the music you want to create, and work with the people you want to work with,” explains Mike. “Because the moment you start limiting yourself, the music suffers.”
And, in fact, this attitude has already borne out around eight new songs, with Courtney teasing that, “They’re really different to the songs on Eternal Blue. I think some people might even hate them. But that makes me excited. I thrive on negativity!”
“Eternal Blue spanned over two years,” adds Mike. “And so much happened over those years. Now we’re different people with different tastes and it’s nice to be able to sit down and be like, ‘What do I want to hear? What do I enjoy?’”
“We feel really energised playing and recording the new songs,” Courtney continues. “I hope that will translate to those listening. It makes me want to drive around really fast in a car – I don’t even have a licence, but I’ll do it!”
