Spanish Love Songs will be crossing the pond for their No Joy Live In Europe 2024 tour…
Listen to Spanish Love Songs tackle The Killers classic Smile Like You Mean It, from their upcoming Doom & Gloom Sessions collection of covers.
Spanish Love Songs have unveiled a brand-new cover of The Killers’ Smile Like You Mean It, and announced their Doom & Gloom Sessions collection.
The band will be releasing the full collection of covers – which also includes Jimmy Eat World’s Futures, Rilo Kiley’s Portions For Foxes and Now It’s On by Grandaddy – on April 25 via Pure Noise, with the aforementioned Killers one out now (listen below).
“We were never a band who did a lot of covers,” begins vocalist and guitarist Dylan Slocum, “but we’d always kept a running list. When we had downtime between albums, we finally got to knock a few off the list.”
Dylan continues: “We’d put them up each month for our Doom & Gloom Social Club to vote on, engage with our community, and talk about great music. It was a great process, the freedom and fun we had recording these covers once a month for two years ended up sort of defining our approach as we started working on the new album. No pressure or expectations, just having fun being in the same room again and making music.”
