Buffalo, New York’s SPACED – who describe themselves as a ‘far-out hardcore’ band – have announced a new EP, No Escape.

The five-track release is due out on October 17 via Pure Noise, and is about “feeling suffocated by our everyday lives,” says vocalist Lexi Reyngoudt. “We grind and work our jobs while we’re home, and then grind some more out on the road. All of this is happening while the world feels like a daunting thundercloud over our heads.

“I wrote the lyrics as an outlet to express my current feelings about what is going on. However, while I feel down about things like that, I still feel lucky to be surrounded by the hardcore community and people who will speak up with me.”

To mark the announcement, SPACED have dropped lead single Cause And Effect, with Lexi explaining that, “This song expresses the anger and frustration we feel about our current society and the norms that are placed upon us. We’re told to be quiet and just obey but we really should be fighting back and speaking our minds. Cause And Effect is an anthem for the times: ‘You pushed us too far; now it’s time we push back.’”
