Slipknot's planned edition of Knotfest Japan has been pushed back again.
Despite initially rescheduling the 2020 edition of Knotfest Japan for early 2021, Slipknot have had to postpone their festival again, announcing new dates in April 2022.
"As a result of the ongoing situation with the coronavirus mandates in Japan and around the world, after thorough discussions with Knotfest organizers and Slipknot's concern for the safety of the fans, artists, staff and everyone involved, we regretfully announce the postponement of Knotfest Japan 2020 scheduled for January 10, 2021 and January 11, 2021 at Makuhari Messe," reads a statement from the band and Japanese promoter Hayashi International Promotion (H.I.P.).
"We understand a second postponement is difficult news. Slipknot, their management, and our entire staff sincerely apologize for any inconveniences this has caused the fans that have been looking forward to the event.

"The new show dates are as follows: Knotfest Japan 2022 Roadshow: April 9 (Saturday) 2022 / Festival: April 10 (Sunday) 2022 Venue: Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall 9-11.
"For people who wish to keep their tickets, please store your purchased tickets in a safe place as they will be honored for the rescheduled dates. For people who wish to receive a refund, ticket refunds will be available between 10am on December 2 (Wednesday) 2020 and 11:59pm January 12 (Tuesday) 2021."
Though it undoubtedly sucks to see more events been postponed this year, there's every chance it'll give Slipknot time to release new music ready for the shows. Earlier this week, frontman Corey Taylor revealed that the Iowa titans were thinking about putting out the follow-up to 2019’s incredible We Are Not Your Kind album "maybe next year".
"The plan right now with Slipknot is to try and A) finish up the touring next year, and B) we’re thinking about kind of putting another album out maybe next year," he said. "But I don’t know. I don’t know what the plan is yet. I just know that we all kind of feel like there’s unfinished business and we wanna finish that out before we do anything. But I know that we were talking about doing it, ’cause we only have one album left on our contract [with our record label]."
