To mark their 25th anniversary as a band, Simple Plan have announced details of a feature-length documentary – coming on Prime Video in 2025. The news was broken onstage by vocalist Pierre Bouvier at When We Were Young festival this past weekend.
Speaking about the as-yet-untitled documentary, which is currently in production, the band say, it's the "centrepiece" of their anniversary celebrations and is "probably one of the most ambitious and special project" they've been a part of.
"Reaching this milestone felt like the perfect moment to look back, reflect and give our fans an inside look into our lives, both on tour and at home... We gave director Didier Charette unprecedented access to the band, and our archives, and trusted him to tell our story. He travelled with us on tour for an entire year and, in the process, really captured the essence of who we are as a band and as people. We’re so proud of this movie and can’t wait for our fans to watch it and get to know us like never before!”
Alongside exclusive archive footage of Simple Plan's early days and rise to the upper echelons of pop-punk, the documentary will also feature new interviews with the likes of Mark Hoppus, Avril Lavigne, Fat Mike and The Offspring.
