Album review: Silent Planet – SUPERBLOOM
California metalcore mob Silent Planet mix djent, electro and shoegaze to intoxicating effect on fascinating fifth album SUPERBLOOM.
:Signal: is band’s first new release since their fourth studio album, Iridescent, which came out last year.
Silent Planet aren’t giving much away about their next steps just yet – but they’re releasing new music, so that’s always a good sign!
The band’s new track, :Signal:, is as cryptic as the press statement they’ve slung our way. They tease how the tune marks the “first chapter” of a story of “one particular transformation”. Well, they’ve got us intrigued…
"Whether we interpret these matters as fact or fiction is irrelevant, because we have become many things, but we've yet to be alone. Many become one,” the band share.
To add even more mystery, the band also shared an enigmatic statement on Twitter: "Our new song has a guest vocalist but also it’s not a human."
It looks like we’ll have to hold out for more info on their new heavy tunes, so in the meantime, the band have dropped a visualiser for :Signal:, which you can watch below:
Silent Planet have also shared some pretty cool cover art, which you can view below.
