See Oli Sykes join MGK onstage for their first live performance of Maybe

Because Oli Sykes hasn’t already been busy enough working with everyone from Lil Uzi Vert and Daryl Palumbo to SLANDER – not to mention gearing up for Bring Me The Horizon’s headline set at Download on Friday – the frontman hit the stage with Machine Gun Kelly over the weekend.

Oli joined MGK at Germany mega-fests Rock im Park (June 3) and Rock am Ring (June 4) to perform their collab Maybe, taken from last year’s Mainstream Sellout album. It’s actually the first time they’ve played it live together, with Machine Gun Kelly telling the crowd after the first chorus: “Make some noise for my friend, Oli Sykes!” before the BMTH singer bounces onstage to tear through his verse and some absolutely killer screams.

A month ago, following the release of Bring Me’s massive My Chem-esque single LosT, Jordan Fish told Kerrang! of where the band were at in terms of their Post Human EP series as a whole: “We’re on a journey of doing different types of records, which we set ourselves up to do thinking we’d get through it really quickly, and it hasn’t panned out that way for a number of reasons. We’re working on four Post Human records and we’ve been working on them all at the same time; one of the reasons why it’s taken longer is that we’ve done stuff for the third and fourth ones as well. The fourth one is where we want to explore the more heavy stuff, so in a way it limits how much we want to go heavy on this one. You don’t want them all to sound the same and you want to be confident in your conviction of going all-in on a style. It’s been a bit challenging working out how to do heavy-ish stuff on the record that doesn’t feel necessarily ‘metal’ heavy.”
