LOUD WOMEN Fest announce first bands for 2024 including Cherym, Desert Sharks and The Amniotics
Seventeen bands from all corners of the globe have been announced for this year’s LOUD WOMEN Fest…
Cherym have released an absolutely wonderful new single, Taking Up Sports, and they’ve gone up against Derry FC for its accompanying video…
Derry trio Cherym are proving why they were picked for our 2023 rising stars round-up with an ace new single.
Featuring Tramp’s Sianna Lafferty, the band have unveiled new single Taking Up Sports, and they’ve also joined forces with their local football team for the equally great accompanying video.
“Taking Up Sports’ is a love song about a time when I had a huge crush on the sporty girl who played football – even though I myself am not sporty or athletic in any way, shape, or form – and about hilariously attempting to join the football team just to get close to this person,” explains vocalist/guitarist Hannah Richardson.
“It’s an ode to the self-proclaimed stragglers who used to get their friends to forge notes for them so they could get out of double P.E, but it’s also a little nod to the WLW community and a reminder of the ridiculous lengths we’ll go to sometimes for the person we think is worth it.”
