Rock Stars Reveal Their Christmas Plans

From Greta Van Fleet through to Beartooth, here's how your favorite musicians will be making merry this Yuletide season...

Rock Stars Reveal Their Christmas Plans

Your Christmas tree is up, you’ve got your presents almost wrapped, and you’ve got your trusty copy of Bad Religion’s Christmas Songs cued up and ready to go for that slump that everyone hits around 4pm on Christmas Day. In fact, your Christmas Day is pretty much sorted. But what about your favourite musicians? In the interest of festive snoopery, we asked five of them what their plans are.

TWENTY ONE PILOTS

Tyler Joseph: “We’re playing a show a few days before Christmas in Australia! And then we’ll be back on Christmas Eve.”

Josh Dun: “Maybe we should just stay there! No, we’ll be back in Ohio, for sure.”

Tyler: “I’m going home to be with my family.”

Josh: “Yeah, I don’t think we’ve ever had a Christmas away from Columbus.”

BLACK VEIL BRIDES

Andy Biersack: “I’d love to say I have grand plans, but the truth is that we’re filming for [TV series] Paradise City right up until the holidays, so I’m not sure I can make any! Usually, my wife and I will go to Ohio, where I’m from, so we get to see my family and the snow, and then when we’re sick of that we go down to Florida, which is where Juliet is from, so we can enjoy it being boiling hot on Christmas day! It’ll probably be an LA Christmas this year, though, just because of timing and everything.”

GRETA VAN FLEET

Josh Kiszka: “For the last handful of years we’ve gone to Tennessee. We make a whole week out of hiking and spending time with family. I just hope that everyone is surrounded by people they love for the holidays, and that they can spend quality time with their loved ones. It’s a time to just breathe and be grateful. With such limited down-time, we look forward to getting together with friends and family, and reflecting on a crazy year.”

BEARTOOTH

Caleb Shomo: “Me and my wife are going to Finland for three days, where we’ll go snowmobiling and dogsledding, and then over to England where I’m going to be hanging out with her family. I’m gonna spend four or five days in London before the Architects tour [where Beartooth are supporting]. That’s my holiday season. Those shows will be ridiculous. It’s really cool to be a part of that tour; being a fan for a long time, seeing everything they’ve gone through and seeing where they are now is so fucking inspiring.”

MIKE SHINODA

Mike: “I always like to lay low for Christmas. We do Christmas Eve with my wife’s family, and then Christmas Day with my family. Other than that, I might take a little vacation. I feel like I earned it!”
