Red Hot Chili Peppers’ love of the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team is legendary.
The Californian quartet paid tribute to the squad in 1989 on the song Magic Johnson, a track taken from their album, Mother's Milk: 'Lakers are the team that I watch on the telly, ’cause they got more moves than a bowl full of jelly.'
Frontman Anthony Kiedis and bassist Flea are both regulars at the Staples Center’s courtside, but their vocalist didn’t quite catch the end of their team’s fixture against Houston Rocks on October 20.
After a brawl between the Rockets’ Chris Paul and Lakers’ Rajon Rondo and Brandon Ingram, the Chili Peppers’ singer was escorted from the game following a spat with officials. His bandmate, however, remained seated throughout.
