Rammstein's European stadium tour gets even bigger

Rammstein Announce More European Stadium Shows

Flame-loving German industrialists Rammstein have announced more dates for their mammoth 2020 European stadium tour.

The band announced a string of shows for mainland Europe (and Northern Ireland) last week, and more a handful more stadiums have been added to the run via a rather bizarre video.

Posted on Rammstein's official YouTube channel, the video gave individual shout-outs to the different cities on tour – presented with tongue firmly in cheek.

“Dear people of Ostend, we bring the fire, you bring the waffles and beer,” read the slogan for Ostend in Belgium.

“Dear residents of the city of Aarhus, Copenhagen is so 2019!” said the announcement for the Danish city of Aarhus.

“Dear Tallinners, prepare for a sauna infusion the German way," ran the shout-out for Estonian capital city Tallinn. We don't know what a German sauna infusion is, but they sound like a band we saw once.

Check out the announcement video below.

No UK dates have been announced for 2020 yet, but there's a nice looking gap around the Belfast show in June.

Rammstein are playing their sole 2019 UK show at MK Stadium in Milton Keynes tomorrow.

Kerrang! recently spoke to Rammstein's lighting designer Roland Griel to talk about what goes into such an epic live show. He told us around 400 people work on the setting up, taking down, transporting, operation, maintenance, feeding, management, and blowing up of each and every gig.

There’s even a second team on hand to start work at the following venue, getting ready to set up and build the stage. Bonkers.

“Going into stadiums, you can only bring in about 10 trucks at a time, so you have to make sure you bring in the right one at the right time for what it’s got in it, that there are enough people around,” says Roland. “I think they’ve got the load out down to four and a half hours now. Then they get in the trucks and drive 500km to the next show. Then they load all the pyro and lights, which takes about eight hours. Repeat that until the tour is over!”
