Polyphia’s Tim Henson has revealed some of what’s to come from the band’s next album – the follow-up to 2022’s huge Remember That You Will Die.
The six-stringer tells Guitar World that LP number five is “heavy”, having realised that’s the direction they want to go in after playing live recently: “That’s exciting for us, and I think last year was really eye-opening for us in terms of how we should start composing for the live performance.”
Tim also says that there’s “lots of eight-string” and the band are “playing baritones and stuff, too”. And, as with Remember That You Will Die, it’s not just Polyphia on the album: they’ll have some special guest collabs as well.
“We have one with Serj [Tankian] from System Of A Down and we just finished a second BABYMETAL collab – that’s for their record, though, and we’re working on one to send them for our record,” Tim reveals. “So hopefully we’ll make that one come to fruition.”
Of course, this album won’t be the only time Polyphia and Serj team up. The band will be supporting SOAD on their huge North American stadium tour along with Wisp, which also features Korn, Avenged Sevenfold and Deftones at different dates.
