“Album eight is finished and being primed for release," Placebo confirm. "We are also presently busy booking live dates…"
Placebo have revealed that work on their eighth studio album is done and dusted, and that they’re getting ready to hit the road.
In an Instagram post over the weekend, Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal gave the update, partly in the form of a question: “NFTs, posters and art prints, masks, cassette tapes, retro tees, a brand new fan club, even a fanzine, maybe dolls… what Placebo stuff would you really like to get your hands on?” they asked.
“‘New music and concerts!!' is the rallying cry and we hear you. Please do not despair and trust that album eight is finished and being primed for release. We are also presently busy booking live dates.”

If that’s got you in the mood to watch them onstage, last summer, having been forced to cancel their live plans, the band instead dug into their archives and shared a collection of live sets, going as far back as 1996.
“We were very disappointed that we couldn’t play live for you this summer, but even so we wanted to go on tour,” they said at the time. “To replace us playing in person, we dug out some videos from the archives and are hosting our own ‘summer tour’."
They’re all still there on the band’s YouTube channel, so get to it…
