Last week, Parkway Drive brought Formula 1 Driver Daniel Ricciardo onstage to sing with them.
Daniel, who’s a big fan of the Aussie metallers, joined them to sing on Deliver Me during the show, which took place at London‘s O2 Academy Brixton on Friday 12 February.
“It’s really random,” said frontman Winston McCall when Kerrang! asked how he knows the Formula 1 driver. “He used to have Parkway lyrics on his F1 helmet, to which we were like, ‘What the fuck is going on here?’ Then he came to Download a couple of years ago and we hung out.”
And how did he end up onstage?
“We were like, ‘Do you want to sing Deliver Me?’ And he was like, ‘How do you do it? I’ve sung in the shower before and stuff…’ I’ve had people who are singers do it worse than he did. And it was so funny because he’s got such a big smile… just before that bit was coming across, I looked over and it was just black on side of stage except for this massive white smile. And I was like, ‘He’s gonna be fine!’ And then he crushed it; it was really cool.”
Daniel posted photos from his onstage cameo on Twitter…
