Album review: Of Mice & Men – Tether
California metalcore quartet Of Mice & Men squeak on low-powered eighth album…
Of Mice & Men frontman Aaron Pauley is ready to hit the road again after having precancerous tissue removed from his body.
In March, Aaron Pauley, frontman of metalcore crew Of Mice & Men, posted online that he was released from the hospital after "one of the scariest nights of [his] life." Then, earlier this month, the band canceled a slew of gigs due to a "medical situation." Now, Aaron has revealed that he had emergency surgery to have precancerous tissue removed from his body, but that he's getting his stitches out this coming week, and will be free to tour afterwards.
Aaron posted the following to his Twitter:
According to Verywell Health, precancerous cells do not necessarily mean cancer, but are more an irregular cluster of cells that is potentially at risk of becoming cancerous in the future. So Aaron's surgery was more a preemptive measure, and not in any way indicative of him having cancer. That said, having precancerous tissue identified and removed is a good step towards said cluster not becoming cancerous.
Describing Of Mice & Men's upcoming new album late last year, Aaron said, "We’re super pumped to be in the studio with Josh, as we’re all big fans of his production and mix discography. When we decided to go heavier with this album, Josh’s was one of the first names to pop up — and I can tell you, we’re a little over halfway done and it’s sounding huge and heavy, heavenly and absolutely demonic — all rolled into one.”
Now that Aaron is healthy, make sure to catch him on Of Mice & Men's upcoming tour with Beartooth at one of the dates below:
