Neck Deep have just released a brand-new single, You Should See Me Now.

Produced and mixed by Will Yip (Turnstile, The Wonder Years, Code Orange), the track follows last year’s brilliant self-titled album, and arrives in time for the pop-punks to play it at this weekend’s Slam Dunk Festival… we hope.

Says frontman Ben Barlow: “You Should See Me Now is a song about hard work, self-belief, the struggle through adversity and proving people wrong. As a band we’ve always been pretty humble and shied away from too much self-aggrandisement, but this felt like a good way of showing a little pride, hopefully people can relate to that too.

“It was a song we’ve had in the bank for a long time and really should’ve been on the album in the first place, so it’s nice to have such a strong bonus track to be featured on something cool to be announced soon.”

Speaking to Kerrang! in 2024 about their songwriting style and how things have grown and changed over the years, Ben reflected, “I think uplifting music has been something that people have grown to love about us. Especially going back to [2015 second album] Life’s Not Out To Get You, which was the quintessential positive pop-punk record, and a little guide to life. Whereas now we’re a little bit older, maybe a little less naive.

“And I think it feels that message is maybe a bit more mature, a bit more realistic, and a bit more applicable to people. If you want the youthful naivety and exuberance, that still exists, but this is us 10 years later, with just a slightly more mature perspective on things. It doesn’t have to tell you, ‘Hey, everything’s gonna be alright,’ but it still feels that way.”
