After already putting together a mouth-watering 20th birthday line-up, Manchester's Damnation festival have announced that this year's two-day festivities will be headlined by U.S. stoner metal legends Corrosion Of Conformity and Brit grindcore icons Napalm Death.
They top an already stacked bill featuring Perturbator, High On Fire, The Haunted, Pig Destroyer, special album sets from Warning and Wiegedood, and the reunion of UKHC bruisers Stampin' Ground, and many others.
Speaking of their return to the UK – a European exclusive gig – COC said: "We've often referred to Manchester as a home away from home so we're beyond stoked to be returning for the 20th anniversary of Damnation Festival. Horns up!"
Also announced for the fest, happening at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre on November 8–9 are Belgian post-metallers Amenra, a special appearance from American fantasy doomsters Castle Rat, and a reunion of London metal yobbos Ted Maul.
"Corrosion Of Conformity and Napalm Death have helped shape metal music for four decades and it's a genuine privilege to have legends close each night as we mark our own milestone of 20 years in the extreme metal world," says festival boss Gavin McInally.
"CoC's European exclusive set will round off an obscenely stacked main stage featuring Orbit Culture, High on Fire, Deafheaven and Perturbator on the Saturday.
"Napalm Death will play their biggest UK headlining show to close Sunday night following a cast of Damnation favourites, including Pig Destroyer, The Haunted and the incredible Amenra.
"Castle Rat are clearly a band destined for great things with a stunning live performance, so we're delighted to have them join the bill.
"And no 20th birthday bash is complete with a surprise guest or two so after convincing Stampin' Ground and code to dust themselves off, we're over the moon to also have the Ted Maul lads back for a one-off special."
