My Chemical Romance’s epic stadium run next year – which will take the band across North America for 11 huge dates – has sold out within hours…
Emo-hardcore legends Thursday will open for MCR at their upcoming reunion show.
It was only in March that we were covering Thursday's last show ever at Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn, and already the band have announced that they'll be playing a gig in Los Angeles this December. Given how hard the news of the My Chemical Romance reunion hit when the band announced it, picking opening acts and the like seems like almost an afterthought. The band themselves were genuinely surprised by the sheer outpouring of response, releasing a statement expressing both their gratitude and their amazement.
“It is truly unbelievable to us the happiness we have experienced over the past two days." said the band. "From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for the warm welcome back. We truly did not expect this. See you soon. Xoxo, MCR.”
It's also understandable that My Chemical Romance's live return has become a global event. The band has already announced that they'll be headlining Download Japan, as well as playing Download Australia and a one-off show in New Zealand with Jimmy Eat World. Fingers crossed, given the gigantic response these three appearances have seen over the last two weeks, that the U.S. and UK will get a full list of festival and tour dates in the near future.
