METZ team up with IDLES’ Joe Talbot for new single Come On Down
METZ have recruited a longtime pal – Joe Talbot of IDLES – for their brilliant new single Come On Down.
The Canadian noise-punks are prepping for their third album and a European tour – get your head rattled with Mess Of Wires, right now.
Toronto-based Metz sure know how to kick up a racket – and if you’re playing catch-up with the Sub Pop-signed rockers, here’s a handy way to get with the program ahead of the trio’s new album.
Said long-player, Strange Peace, comes out on September 22 – and, let’s not beat around any bushes here, we’re psyched. The band’s last couple of LPs were beasts, all whir and grind and buzz and shit did you hear that?
Check out the frenetic fabulousness of Mess Of Wires right this instant.
Says frontman Alex Edkins of the track, which opens Strange Peace: “It’s a reminder to myself to speak out and say what I believe. To be honest with myself. It’s common to feel that your thoughts are inconsequential, a drop in the echo chamber, but silence can be worse. Speak out about what you believe in, loud and often.”
Ten-four, that, Alex. Previous Strange Peace cuts Drained Lake and Cellophane are also Very Much Worth Your Time. Loud and proud, and a hefty punch to the gut, these boys can bring the noise, alright.
And you can witness that noise live when Metz tour in Europe later this year, dates as follows:
