Manson’s got a new LP to promote, and he’s got some stuff to say about that t-shirt.
Remember when Justin Bieber was selling a Marilyn Manson tee as his merch, with “Bigger Than Satan: Bieber” written on the back? And tried to sell it for almost $200? It was only last summer, but in the fast-moving world of celebrity gossip, a lifetime ago.
But, thankfully, here’s Manson in a new interview with Consequence Of Sound bringing the subject back up, and being pretty blunt about what he thinks of the pop superstar.
“He [Bieber] said to me, ‘I made you relevant again,’” Manson says, referencing the media impact of the shirt. “Bad mistake to say to me. The next day I told him I’d be at his soundcheck at Staples Center to do Beautiful People… He believed that I’d show up, because he was that stupid.”
Manson adds that he eventually took the proceeds from the shirt sales, with Bieber’s people accepting they were in the wrong to use his image in the first place.
“They didn’t even fight,” Manson says. “They were just like, ‘Yeah, we already know, we did wrong, so here’s the money.’ He [Bieber] was a real piece of shit in the way he had the arrogance to say that. He was a real touchy-feely guy, too, like, ‘Yo yo bro,’ and touches you when he’s talking. I’m like, ‘You need to stand down, you’re dick height on me, okay? Alright? So stand down, son.’”
FWIW, Bieber's actually only 10 centimetres smaller than Manson. So, "dick height"? Not quite, but, we like it, and we'll allow it.
