Lzzy Hale: "Most Of The Bands You Know And Love Won’t Make It Out Of This…"

Lzzy Hale has been a typically brilliant source of hope and inspiration throughout the coronavirus pandemic, sending out helpful messages of encouragement to fans, and trucking on with her segment on the We Are Hear series – most recently remotely dueting with Evanescence's Amy Lee, much to the internet's delight.

Now, though, the Halestorm leader is getting real with her followers, addressing the fact that some U.S. states are reopening now and how this is… well, a pretty bad idea ("Without a vaccine, this is like opening up a designated section of a public pool for pissing," are her exact words).

Lzzy has also revealed how much she's struggling without the comfort blanket of being on tour – something she spends 90 per cent of her time doing usually.

"What I need to address tonight is the audacity of some people to assume that just because I’m someone of note, that I am not suffering because of all this," she writes on Instagram. "I spend most of my time, 90% of it, on tour, which is not a reality right now."

The singer and guitarist emphasises that it's not just her band that are affected – and the suffering extends deep into the music industry.

"My crew is suffering, the future is unknown, and most of the bands you know and love won’t make it out of this," Lzzy says. "So if you are able, please be smart. Don’t go out unless it’s necessary, and if you gotta, do curb side, wear a mask, wash/sanitize your hands. And let’s band together to end this shit!"
