From L.S. Dunes and Lamb Of God to GEL and GWAR, here’s what went down at Chicago’s legendary annual takeover of all things punk, metal and alternative…
In a new radio interview, guitarist Mark Morton reveals that Lamb Of God will record their new album in 2019.
It looks like fans will be getting a new Lamb Of God album sooner than they might have expected. According to guitarist Mark Morton, LoG are entering the studio this year to record the long-awaited follow-up to 2015’s VII: Sturm Und Drang.
In an interview with radio show The Metal Teddy Bear Experience, Morton said, “We are writing, too. We got a bunch of new material, a whole lotta new song ideas that we’re sifting through. Pretty far along in the song writing process for the new album—not finished, but pretty far along.
“Touring coming up, we got a start of tour with Slayer in May and then we’re going to Europe in June and July, and then we’ll be in the studio before that and after that, so it’s cranking.”

Earlier this year, Mark assured fans that 2019 would be a big year for Lamb Of God, and that he and guitarist Willie Adler had begun the writing process for their next album.
“We are currently working on new material that I’m thrilled about,” said Mark. “I just had some sessions with Willie [Adler, guitars], putting together new songs. There’s a really cool energy going on with the new stuff. So Lamb Of God is full throttle. We’ve got shows coming together… I think we’ve already announced some of them for this year… And lots of new material coming together. So, yeah, they’ll be no shortage of Lamb Of God this year, for sure.”
