Check out Karen Dió’s new EP, My World
The Brazilian-born, Britain-based punk says “music is what I’m meant to be doing with my life”. And she’s heading out with Limp Bizkit next year. Best get acquainted with her…
The rising Brazilian punk singer’s new one is less than a minute of pure fury…
Ahead of her forthcoming EP and a flurry of live activity, Karen Dió has dropped a raging new single, the short, sweet and scary 3am.
Short on both song time and words, the Brazilian punk simply explains of the track's topic of having to work, work work: "51 seconds of getting shit done! Everybody's gotta work, right?"
Indeed, check it out below…
The track comes amid a hectic time. On October 25, she'll release her My World EP. She'll also be playing at Beyond The Music fest, doing a headline show in London, heading out on the road with WARGASM, and joining Sum 41 for their final UK gigs.
“My World sealed my comeback to the music industry, reassuring that here, making music, is where I belong,” explains Karen, talking about the EP. “It’s the first music I wrote after a two-year break. The songs are short, real, catchy, and straight to the point!
"The title-track has a mix of Joan Jett with Veruca Salt. That song is about my realisation that music is what I am meant to be doing with my life. Whether it’s in front of 10,000 people or just alone in my room, I will still be writing songs. Stupid is one of my favourite songs on the EP. It rips. It has this 2000’s punk rock energy which I love. It’s about realising you had been naive and that you didn’t stand up for yourself in certain situations.”
