Public Image Ltd. have announced that they’ll be competing to represent Ireland at Eurovision 2023.
The post-punk legends – comprised of former Sex Pistol John Lydon, plus Lu Edmonds, Scott Firth and Bruce Smith – are submitting previously unheard song Hawaii for their chance to enter the 67th annual Eurovision Song Contest.
As well as sharing the song on digital platforms today (listen below), Hawaii will be performed live next month on Ireland’s The Late Late Show from 9:30pm on February 3.
Detailing its meaning, John explains: “It is dedicated to everyone going through tough times on the journey of life, with the person they care for the most. It’s also a message of hope that ultimately love conquers all.”
