Issues are set to make their first appearance at the May bank holiday weekender, and are already looking forward to conquering yet another festival in the UK. With a headline tour also set for May and the potential for new music, Issues are set to have take 2016 by storm… We spoke to clean singer, Tyler Carter about Slam Dunk Festival 2016 – check it out below!
Hey, Tyler! It’s your first Slam Dunk… What have you heard about the festival?
“Yeah, it is! We’ve been dying to do more festival in the UK cause Reading & Leeds was so wild. We’ve always heard that UK festivals are a trip! We love festivals in general so you gotta know that UK ones are the best!”
What can the crowd expect from you that sets you apart from all the other bands?
“I don’t know about the other bands or care what they do, but I know you can’t be tired when you come to our set because we keep you going! We’ve definitely got the groove and the energy to send you home with something to tell your friends about!”
What’s currently your favourite song to play live and why?
“I usually love Life Of A Nine, because it’s very upbeat and just in your face. It’s definitely a crowd favourite, and I get to rap. But we will be playing a couple new songs by time for Slam Dunk, so be ready!”
Which other bands on the line-up are you most excited to play with?
“I’m excited to see old friends, but most excited for Panic! [At The Disco]. They are good boys, and I love those guys. They put on the most epic performance!!”
What are your three festival essentials?
“Three festival needs: boots or wellies if it’s muddy! Or good trainers if it’s not, ’cause lots of walking!! Snacks, in case you most likely get blazed (laughs)… And bring your Nintendo DS, because if you sync with us our band like to play Mario Cart and Smash Bros with fans!!”
