This is what it would sound like if Taylor Swift was in twenty one pilots (spoiler: actually not that bad).
While we'll likely be getting a new twenty one pilots record sooner than the duo had initially planned, a surprising new mash-up has hit the internet to tide us over until we get more concrete news regarding the arrival of album number six.
The band's explosive lead single to 2018 album Trench – Jumpsuit – has been expertly fused together with Taylor Swift's Love Story by mash-up king William Maranci (the YouTuber responsible for other recent efforts like Rammstein x Justin Timberlake, and this truly horrible Drowning Pool x Queen audio disaster). And though it doesn't initially feel like Tyler Joseph's bassline and Josh Dun's distinctive drumming would work with TaySway's voice, something about the mash-up sort of just… clicks.
Quiz: How well do you know twenty one pilots' lyrics?
Speaking to Kerrang! about Jumpsuit and how it's his favourite twenty one pilots song to play live, Tyler said in 2018: “Jumpsuit has taken the top spot pretty quickly. It’s exactly what I saw in my head when I was writing it – I knew it was going to be at the top of [Trench] and the top of the show. I think the song gives off the energy that is required to be injected into a room that can sustain for the course of an entire set. It’s a very useful song.”
