Hardcore Supergroup Dead Cross Held By Police While On US Tour

American hardcore band Dead Cross – comprised of Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr Bungle), Mike Crain (Retox, Festival Of Dead Deer), Justin Pearson (The Locust, Head Wound City) and Dave Lombardo (Misfits, Slayer) – were detained by police in Houston on August 15, and had their equipment searched while Pearson and Crain, at least, were restrained in handcuffs.

The band has since been released from custody, and is continuing its US and Canada tour – you can find the full dates at the bottom of this article.

Right now, the band is offering no further comment on why they were stopped, on legal advice. But Lombardo posted the picture below to Instagram, capturing his bandmates ‘cuffed and in the company of the cops – and the Houston Police Department is expected to make more information available in the near future, after the band’s arraignment.

Dead Cross released their debut album, a self-titled collection, via Patton’s Ipecac label on August 4. The band’s debut video, for the track Obedience School, was removed from YouTube for “violating YouTube’s policy on violent or graphic content”. (Not that you can’t watch it elsewhere; but be warned that the video features cockfighting footage, and images of animals in distress, and worse, which may offend.)
