Why I started the ‘Wu-Tang of hippy communities’ and will eventually go off-grid
Hacktivist vocalist Jot Maxi explains why he’s trying to live outside of the system, relying on the kindness and skills of strangers
"We want to thank him profusely for the blood, sweat and tears he has put into the band…"
Hacktivist have announced that they're parting ways with their founding guitarist, Timfy James.
The UK grime-metallers will be playing a couple of final dates together, including a farewell headline show in Milton Keynes (the band's hometown).
"I'm very sad to say that I have made the decision to leave Hacktivist," says Timfy. "I've had an amazing six years touring the world with my brothers and I wish them all the luck moving forward. I also want to thank all of the fans that have supported us this far, without you guys none of this would have been possible. I have every confidence that the band will continue to inspire and push the boundaries of modern music for many more years to come."
“We’re sad to see Timfy’s time with Hacktivist has come to an end, but we wish the best of luck with his future plans," continues bassist Josh Gurner. "We want to thank him profusely for the blood, sweat and tears he has put into the band over the past seven years. Timfy has been a driving force in defining the Hacktivist sound, but his departure brings with it the dawn of new ideas and forward thinking. None of this year’s shows will be cancelled, and you will be hearing from us soon with fresh new music.”
