Our current Kerrang! cover star grandson has just announced a London headline show.

In a couple of weeks’ time – before he performs at Glastonbury’s Left Field Tent on June 29 – Jordan Benjamin will head to The Lower Third on June 23 for a gig benefitting War Child UK. He says he’ll be “celebrating community, resistance and the beginning of a new chapter” on the night, with tickets going on sale this Thursday, June 12 from 10am (you can also win a pair of tickets for just £10 by entering the War Child prize draw).

Last month, grandson returned with new single BRAINROT, and the announcement of his third album INERTIA. Speaking about how the record’s 2023 predecessor, I Love You, I’m Trying, affected and fed into this one, Jordan tells Kerrang!: “More than ever, grandson is an idea. The experience of writing that other deeply personal record and realising that it just wasn’t as fulfilling, for me or my audience, helped me tap back into what we all want from this project.

“I continue to speak in the first person. I continue to hold it very tightly as a reflection of my thoughts and beliefs. But it is at its best as this [shared experience]. Getting my ego tangled up in that only diminishes the core message that grandson is about all of us. All of us got into this mess together. It’s going to take all of us to get out of it.”
