Gold Key, Featuring Members of Sikth, Gallows, Announce New Video

Gold Key, a band featuring members of Sikth, Gallows and Nervus/Blackhole, have been kind enough to go via Kerrang! to drop their brand new video.

Kerosene is taken from their new album, Hello Phantom, which is out October 27 on Venn Records. You can see the artwork above, pretty cool right? We think it was done by Jack Watts, AKA Tattoos For Your Enemies. Good stuff! Anyhoo, here's the new vid:

Good fun, eh? We spoke to vocalist Steve Sears about the new rekkid:

Hi Steve! The album is called 'Hello, Phantom', have any of you met a ghost?
We certainly have a few unexplained tales between us. I've had furniture rearranging itself in the night and Lags has seen something sit on the end of his bed. I have to be honest though, I think it is all a load of bobbins - I mean why are nearly all ghosts described as old women in Victorian era outfits? You never hear about ghosts wearing tracksuits or eating crisps and I've never heard about a caveman ghost either. Still, logic and reason aside - ghosts are fascinating.

The new video's incredible, what's the story behind it? Kerosene is about isolation and feeling as though you have nothing in common with the people that surround you. It is a seriously unhealthy mindframe to have and I think the song addresses that too. It is much easier to isolate yourself from the real world than to face it and contribute something meaningful to it. It's a dangerous spiral to start heading down. The video features my two favourite things - Space, and not having to appear in a music video.

You've all got previous, as they say.. would you say any elements of your old bands are knocking around in the Gold Key sound?
I mean subconsciously it no doubt influences the way we approach our playing but we have no interest in regurgitating anything we've already done. Lags and I connected musically through me recording the last two Gallows records so I guess we have the same angular unsettling edge to our writing. James being in Sikth and other awesome bands has honed his talents without a doubt so it makes it that much more fun to make music together. First and foremost though, we have been friends for years and years, which is definitely the core reason that we are all on the same page.
