Gojira On Their New Album: "We Are Very Happy And Super Proud Of It"

While we're seemingly still a little while off from a new Gojira album just yet, drummer Mario Duplantier has teased that "work is in progress" and that the band are "very happy and super proud of it" at this point.

Speaking to KBear 101 about the follow-up to 2016’s Magma – which is currently being worked on in the studio right now – Mario says: “It's going well. I can’t give too many details because we still have to be on the same page with all the partners, and we have to give a collective release date.

“But I can tell you that we are working very hard on the new stuff. Work is in progress and we are very happy and super proud of it. We just can't wait to give you more details.”

It's not a great deal to go on for now, but it's an exciting update nonetheless.

Perhaps we'll be able to hear new music in time for the metallers' forthcoming live shows – including a just-announced set at legendary UK summer festival Glastonbury.
