Following a fantastic summer of shows, Garbage have announced
that they won’t be playing live again now until next year.
The alt.rock legends have taken to social media to announce that
singer Shirley Manson sustained an injury on their recent run, which requires “surgery
and rehabilitation to correct”. Therefore, their remaining 2024 gigs are
cancelled.
“It is with great and sincere regret that we announce the
cancellation of all our remaining dates for the rest of the year due to an
injury that Shirley sustained on our recent tour in Europe that will require
surgery and rehabilitation to correct,” reads a statement from Garbage.
“This is not a decision we have taken lightly and we apologise
wholeheartedly to our amazing fans and supportive promoters. We look forward to
playing for you all again in 2025. Sending so much love as always. Stay kind.”
The caption – which is presumably written by Shirley herself
– reads: “No-one is more crushed about this than I am. You know I would
push through if I could.”
