Franz Ferdinand have covered Amyl And The Sniffers’ U Should Not Be Doing That.

The Glasgow indie rockers appeared on Australian radio station triple j’s Like A Version series, tackling Amyl’s 2024 lead single from Cartoon Darkness.

“It puts me in a great mood whenever I listen to it,” frontman Alex Kapranos tells triple j of the track. “It’s great when you see a band and everything they put out just seems to be even better than what they did before.”

Speaking about putting their own spin on it, Alex explains that, “I knew that I was never gonna be able to sing like Amy [Taylor] – we’re different personalities, we have different voices, different accents, different ways of doing it. For me, it was more about tuning into the energy.”
