With this weekend's diabolic festivities barely wrapped up, Fortress Festival have made their first announcement for 2026.

Old Man's Child, the Norwegian black metal legends, formed by former Dimmu Borgir guitarist Galder, will hit the Scarborough two-dayer for their first show on British soil since the ’90s.

Formed in 1993, Galder continued to run Old Man's Child after joining Dimmu in 2000. After years of inactivity following 2009's Slaves Of The World, it was announced in 2019 that he would be picking things up again, and writing new music. After leaving Dimmu in 2024, Galder announced that new material and shows were imminent.

This year's Fortress saw 1,750 black metal fans gather at Scarborough Spa for two days of darkness featuring 1349, Abduction, Ulcerate, Forteresse, RUÏM, The Great Old Ones, and an exclusive comeback show from Agalloch, among many other sinister treats.

Next year's happening takes place at the same venue from May 30 – 31. Early bird tickets are available now. See Fortressfestival.co.uk for more info.
