It has sadly been announced that former Spiritbox bassist Bill Crook (pictured above on the right) has passed away.
The musician – who played live with the Canadian metalcore stars for four years, as well as on their 2021 breakout debut Eternal Blue – left the band in 2022 as a “mutual” decision “with no hard feelings”, and had since been working with Underoath’s Aaron Gillespie on a project.
The news of Bill’s death was confirmed by A Textbook Tragedy’s Kai Turmann, with whom the bassist had also played music with.
“I’m so profoundly sad to say that our dear friend Bill Crook has passed away,” reads Kai’s statement. “He was a friend to so many, and a dear friend to me since we were children. Bill was, and is, loved by so many people, and I’m so incredible sorry to have to share this devastating information with you.
“There will be many words and many tears, but for now I just need to get the terrible news out. I’m so sorry. I love you all. I love you Bill.”
