Foo Fighters cancel appearance at this weekend’s Soundside Music Festival
Jack White and Greta Van Fleet have joined this weekend’s Soundside event in place of Foo Fighters, who have cancelled last-minute.
Foo Fighters have just confirmed that drum titan Josh Freese will be behind the kit for them following the passing of Taylor Hawkins last year.
With their live shows kicking off in just a couple of days’ time, Foo Fighters have now officially revealed who will be behind the kit for the band, following the passing of Taylor Hawkins last March.
During their free, global Preparing Music For Concerts livestream on Veeps on Sunday (May 21), the rock titans revealed that The Vandals’ Josh Freese – an incredible drummer who has worked with everyone from Nine Inch Nails to Paramore – will be joining them on tour.
Josh was confirmed as the Foos’ new drummer at the start of the stream, following an amusing few cameos in the form of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee and Tool’s Danny Carey, all of whom were teased before Josh’s grand unveiling.
And then, not only did the drummer show off his talents by performing Foos classics like All My Life and Monkey Wrench with the band at their own 606 Studios, but they also aired new material from upcoming 11th album But Here We Are, which is due out on June 2.
At the time of writing, Foo Fighters are yet to share if Josh is a permanent member, or filling in live for now. Stay tuned for more when we have it.
Preparing Music For Concerts is available for rewatch up until 12pm PT / 3pm ET on May 24.
