Album review: FIDLAR – SURVIVING THE DREAM
LA punks FIDLAR deal in chaos and contemplation on fourth album, SURVIVING THE DREAM.
“This record is about doubling down on what you love…” FIDLAR have shared two new singles, and announced details of their fourth album Surviving The Dream.
Following 2019’s brilliant Almost Free, FIDLAR have just announced details of their fourth full-length.
The trio’s impending new record will go by the name SURVIVING THE DREAM, and is set to drop on September 20.
Frontman Zac Carper enthuses that, “This record is about doubling down on what you love. For us, it’s about playing shows and making music. Coming back after a few years away, our intention was to self-make an album that the three of us are stoked on. We’re very, very, very pumped on it and what’s to come. These songs are meant to be heard live with the fellow FIDIOTS going off.”
Speaking of which, FIDLAR have unveiled two new singles – FIX ME and GET OFF MY WAVE – that abide by this mantra.
“We picked these two songs to lead off the record because it represents the energy we pull off live,” Zac continues. “It’s all about the sad mosh-pit.”
The former video also features an appearance by Sosie Bacon, which Zac calls an “awesome” cameo. “We did karaoke with her on her birthday and she killed it,” he says. “When we came up with the idea, she was the only choice. She’s perfect.”
