States Of Metal: Arizona Is Sweltering, Savage, And Sick As Hell
The Grand Canyon State is so hot that it’s impossible to NOT be metal there.
The Seattle quartet, featuring Lisa Mungo of Daughters, will be hitting the road next month.

If you’ve been a fan of American noise-rock, hardcore, or doom in the last few years, there’s a pretty damn good chance you’ve seen Lisa Mungo around. As a member of the live version of the Providence, Rhode Island noise-rock band Daughters, she layers noise and screams atop the band's already terrifying set. Back at home across the country in Seattle, she also does vocals and synths for the moody prog-doom act He Whose Ox Is Gored. But her gnarliest, most exciting project these days is fronting the Seattle feminist hardcore band Fucked and Bound, where she screams about misogyny, music and service-industry woes, and good ol’ fashioned existential dread over some seriously filthy, depraved hardcore riffs.
Fucked and Bound have just finished tracking Love Is A Lie, Filth Is Eternal, the “darker, nasty as fuck” follow-up to their 2018 debut, Suffrage. But before the album's release in 2019, they’re hitting the road on the west coast with Tucson death-grind act Languish in January, and if you’re anywhere even remotely near these spots, you should not hesitate to go experience the sweaty, confrontational, cathartic live act that is Fucked and Bound...before they either get too big for those little rooms, or Lisa gets so busy with Daughters that these tours become fewer and farther between.
“I’m pretty turned on by the fact that we’ll be road testing a couple new tunes from Love Is A Lie, Filth Is Eternal,” Lisa says. “We added songs from Suffrage we haven’t played in a live environment before, which will be fun. But mostly I’m looking forward to the hang with all our west-coast buds -- plus getting to share the stage with Languish is beyond amazing considering how great those humans are!"
Lisa, guitarist Brian McClelland and drummer Matt Chandler will also be joined by their new bass player, Rah Davis (formerly of Skelator and Cages -- and was once a touring bassist for Cattle Decapitation).
