For too long has the catwalk been in thrall to sportswear and models that look like they’d beat you up at a bus stop, which is just one of the reasons why it’s good that the Turkish-born, London-educated designer Dilara Findikoglu turned so many heads with her show at London Fashion Week earlier this month. Punk, metal, fantasy, fetish, goth, geisha, goats: these are the key concerns of her latest collection, which – interestingly – was premiered at an Anglican Church in the capital. The church were forced to issue an official apology afterwards, while King Dickhead and terrified conspiracy theorist Alex Jones had this to say about it:
“It’s the same thing, from China to Russia to the United States to Mexico, it’s the same thing powering the drug cartels … Satanism: they’re public about it. It’s the same thing powering the Vatican; it’s the same thing powering much of the CIA. It is a bunch of weak scum [he really does lean in on that bit] trying to ‘play God’ and trying to run our lives.”
