Lars Göran Petrov – vocalist of Entombed A.D. and formerly of Entombed – is battling cancer.
Lars Göran Petrov has announced that he is battling incurable cancer, and has set up a GoFundMe page asking people to "help out a fellow metalhead in need in these difficult times".
The Entombed A.D. vocalist – who previously played with Swedish death metal titans Entombed (with Entombed A.D. forming in 2014 after they broke up) – says that he has been fighting the disease for "some time now". Sadly it "can't be removed", but the doctors "are trying to control it with chemotherapy".
"Sad news…" say the band. "LG Petrov has been struck by cancer and he is undergoing chemo treatment to try and control it. Our thoughts and and strength goes out to him. If you want to support him in these hard times, click on the link and feel free to donate."
Responding to the announcement on Entombed A.D.'s Instagram, Machine Head frontman Robb Flynn wrote: "So sorry to hear LG, stay strong brother. Keep your head up." Slipknot's Jay Weinberg, meanwhile, added, "Sending love and strength to you, LG."
Kerrang! would very much like to echo those sentiments. Our thoughts are with LG's family, friends and bandmates in this horrible time.
